Ginette Bourassa

Since 1999, Ginette has taught watercolor, composition, drawing and the art of choosing colors to adults of all levels. She teaches and runs workshops in Quebec City in the spring and summer and in Miami in the winter.

Ginette has painted most of her life and her colorful art has been exhibited in the United States, Canada, Spain and France. She has been inspired by the instruction of many renowned artist teachers.

Yvette Cotera

Yvette offers small group classes and private lessons to children (K-12) plus both children and adults with Special Needs at her studios in Cutler Bay and Key Largo. Small groups and those with special needs can also arrange for in-home instruction.

Following degrees in art and special education, Yvette has continued to grow as a teaching artist, taking watercolor and other water-soluble medium workshops and classes. She teaches Acrylic and Watercolor painting as well as Collage Mixed Media.

Marilyn Johansen

Marilyn Johansen teaches watercolor classes each Wednesday at Art Serve in Fort Lauderdale. She also offers private classes for all levels. Her watercolors have won numerous awards from watercolor societies throughout the country. With a degree in Education, she is a teacher who is an artist!

Jan De Jong

Jan teaches watercolor painting to beginning and intermediate students. Following a thirty-year career in art education in elementary and high school, she now offers painting classes to adults. Classes are offered at her home in southwest Miami-Dade, but she is also willing to travel to students at other locations.

Since receiving a degree in art education, Jan has deepened her knowledge of watercolors through years of classes and workshops. Her work has earned acceptance into numerous exhibitions and her talent has been recognized with many awards. She is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society and the Miami Watercolor Society.

Diane Lary

Diane teaches watercolor painting on paper and Aquaboard surfaces to beginning and intermediate adults. Her classes are offered through Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens and taught in their classrooms.

Over 25 years of painting, she has taken dozens of classes and workshops and has taught and done demonstrations, workshops and classes for the Miami Watercolor Society, the Florida Watercolor Society and many other art groups in south Florida. Her work has won many awards in juried exhibitions.

Sal Sidner

Sal teaches Watercolor painting to children and adults of all levels privately in your home or various other locations. She offers classes and private lessons, but prefers intensive 2-4 day workshops. Her instruction includes experimental and traditional techniques, and most importantly, ways of seeing and feeling.

Her extensive education in art education includes Masters studies with NYU in Venice, Italy, Educational Specialist and Masters degrees from University of Florida, and many workshops with the best watercolorists in the world. She was an Art Educator in the Miami-Dade Public Schools for 18 years and an Educator with the Museum of Contemporary Art for three years.

Annie Strack

Annie Strack teaches all levels of adult artists in her studio in Pennsylvania, online, and in workshops around the world. She’s an industry trained expert in the uses and properties of artist materials and works with manufacturers to test and review new products, and she demonstrates and teaches for artist organizations and for art supply companies. Her next European workshop is France in June and is hosted by Sennelier.

Donna Underwood

Donna offers private instruction as well as classes in watercolor painting at her home in southwest Miami-Dade. She specializes in teaching traditional, classic techniques using transparent watercolors.

After receiving a master’s degree in art education and studying art abroad in China, Donna taught art to middle school and high school students, including advance placement drawing and painting. She is a signature member of the Miami Watercolor Society. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions and she has illustrated three children’s books with watercolor paintings: I am Moxxy Dog, In the Grand Garden, and When I Get to Heaven.

Marilyn Valiente

Marilyn teaches both traditional watercolor and abstracts on non-porous surfaces such as Yupo to adults at all levels of experience. She offers workshops or private classes at her studio in southwest Miami-Dade County as well as courses through the education department at Fairchild Gardens.

The recipient of numerous awards for her work from jurors around the United States, Marilyn has been painting in watercolors for twenty years. She has a degree in art education as well as a Ph.D. in pastoral counseling.
