Mary McHenry Skill Building Class
We will experiment with a limited palette to create a loose landscape painting inspired by coastal Maine. By using just a few colors, you’ll achieve a full range of hues to create a harmonious painting. We will also explore the practice of creating small value & color studies to set your painting up for success. Some key areas we will explore: Creating a color wheel using just three colors; Mixing rich, luminous grays and deep blacks and more!
List of materials to bring:
- Paint colors and a palette. Bring a grey or neutral tint if you have
- 3 5×7 pieces of watercolor paper
- A 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper taped to a board or block
- Pencil and eraser
- Spray bottle
- Watercolor brushes in various sizes.
- Paper towels
- Water container
