Watercolor Class Nov. 19

Fabiano Santos

Originally from the tranquil town of Ilhéus, nestled in Bahia, Brazil, Fabiano’s artistic flair emerged at a young age. His talents truly flourished in Salvador, the capital of Bahia, where he earned a degree in Industrial Design, majoring in Graphic Design, shaping the trajectory of his creative journey.

After relocating in the USA from San Diego to Miami, Fabiano’s artistic journey entered a new chapter. A Graphic Designer by profession, he skillfully navigates the complexities of both traditional and digital printing. Yet, it was in Miami that he rekindled his love affair with watercolors, merging realism and expressionism with a photographer’s eye. Guided by the Miami Watercolor Society, he found recognition and awards, a tribute to his craft.

However, Fabiano’s artistry extends beyond his personal canvas. In his watercolor class, he unveils his portrait-capturing process. Lighting and setting manipulation converge as he assesses compositional values. Through controlled drips and paint flow, an orchestrated explosion of color emerges.

This class, designed for all levels, aims to offer a glimpse into his technique. While a full painting might be elusive within the timeframe, students will leave with an understanding of the process. From beginners to enthusiasts, all are welcome to join and explore this captivating world.

With Fabiano’s guidance, attendees will witness firsthand the orchestrated chaos of watercolors. He’ll demonstrate how to corral paint’s unpredictable nature, weaving deliberate strokes and techniques to create a portrait that radiates vitality. This class isn’t just about technique; it’s about empowering students to embrace the unpredictable journey of artistic expression.

Rooted in simplicity, Fabiano’s approach is a masterclass in the art of directness. It’s a testament to his passion, experience, and a shared commitment to unearthing the beauty that lies within the creative process.”
